1 point. 1 POINT. UN PUNTO. 1 point is the only thing that separates the US Men’s National Team from making it to the next round of World Cup qualifying matches. They have a chance to secure that point tonight against Guatemala.
On paper, tonight’s match against Guatemala seems like a walk in the park for the US; however given their recent struggles with consistency, I think it’s safe to say ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
Failing to qualify for the next round of CONCACAF matches would be a major dissapointment for Head Coach Jurgen Klinsmann who at his inauguration promised a more attacking brand of US football. -
Last year, over 70 football fans in Egypt died during stadium riots at a rivalry match between Al Ahly and Zamalek. The riots caused the season in play to be suspended indefinitely.
Whether any individuals were held responsible for the tragedy in Port Said remains unclear to most. The fact of the matter is the new club football season is scheduled to start this week and the governing bodies have refused to uplift the suspension.
Given Egypt’s rich tradition as a footballing nation, it will be very interesting to see what kind of effect no football will have on the general population.

Check out highlights from last Friday’s match between Colombia vs Paraguay. Colombia has finally risen from the ashes to once again become one of the best teams in World Football. Many analysts have attributed Colombia’s recent success to their new head coach, Jose Pekerman.
I attribute their success to one man and one man alone Falcao.

Over the past few weeks, I have been hearing so much about Master, the new movie starring Joaquin Pheonix and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, that I don’t know what to think anymore.
